Semolina Gulab Jamun Recipe

Material:

- 1 cup semolina (rava)

- 1.5 cups milk

- 1 tablespoon ghee

- 2 cups sugar

- 3 cups water

- 4-5 green cardamom (crushed)

- A few strands of saffron

- Oil or ghee for frying

Method:

  •  Gulab Jamun Here you go, a batch of delicious, juicy semolina gulab jamuns that will melt in your mouth! And guess what? You won’t have to step out to the market for any ingredients. We’ll whip this up with things you already have at home. Trust me, these are so tasty that you might just say goodbye to store-bought gulab jamuns!

  • Let’s get started! First, heat a pan on the gas stove and add a tablespoon of ghee. Just a little heating will do; it will melt right away. Next, pour in one and a half cups of milk. Remember, for every cup of semolina, you need that much milk. I’m using one cup of semolina, and let’s stick with dairy milk, as semolina absorbs milk faster than your friend gobbles down food!

  • Now, reduce the flame and gradually add the semolina while stirring continuously. We don’t want any lumps; we want it as smooth as a well-mixed batter! Once the semolina absorbs the milk, turn off the gas. If you keep cooking it for too long, it will become boring and dry—nobody wants that!

  • Next up, let’s make the syrup. Grab a big pot so that all the gulab jamuns can take a nice bath in it. Add two cups of sugar and three cups of water. Oh, and don’t forget four to five green cardamom pods for that extra kick! And just a sprinkle of saffron threads will add some color and elegance.

  • Keep the flame high and cook until it’s a little sticky. It should be just right—not too thick, or it will turn into a sticky mess!

  • Now, back to our gulab jamun mix. Knead it well to make it soft and pliable. If it feels a bit dry, add warm milk and knead again, just like you’d knead out your stress after a long day!

  • Shape the mixture into small balls. Next, heat the oil gently. Remember, fry the gulab jamuns on low heat so they can cook through without burning. When they float up, you’ll know they’re celebrating their time in the hot tub!

  • Once fried, soak them in the warm syrup, and watch how they soak up all that sweetness and become delightful little treats!

  • So there you have it—your juicy semolina gulab jamuns! Whenever you crave something sweet or want to celebrate a festival, whip up this recipe
